The Biomass of the Egg (Essay Sample)
The biomass of the egg decreases until it is just about to hatch because as the egg gets closer to hatching, there is a release of enzymes that break down the yolk sac. The enzymes also break down tissue around the air sac and exposed lungs, reducing their size and, therefore, less food is needed. Additionally, as we age, our cells can lose their ability to repair DNA damage and die. These increase frequency during ageing, contributing to the development of many types of cancer, including leukaemia, lung and brain cancers, and pancreatic and breast cancer

Discussion Prompt 2: Biofuels and Carbon Capture Technology
Carbon capture technology is a process used to remove carbon dioxide from exhaust gases produced by industrial and power generation facilities. The CO2 is then piped back into an area to be used as a carbon source that can help offset the CO2 emissions. On the other hand (Zahed et al., 2021).
The most convincing argument for carbon neutrality is that it supports the Paris Agreement to keep global average temperature rise below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. By implementing a carbon-neutral approach and reducing greenhouse gas emissions through renewable energy sources, we can maintain our current way of life while not increasing the number of harmful gases in our atmosphere.
On the other hand, there are many different approaches to achieving carbon neutrality. One approach is a carbon fee and dividend, which imposes taxes or other fees on CO2 emissions and disburses the profits from the charge back onto citizens as dividends. A LOOP approach helps shareholder companies use non-renewable resource inputs to gain carbon offsets under their voluntary emissions reduction activities, such as offset credits for renewable energy production. A second approach is to pursue a zero-carbon portfolio standard that requires corporations to hold a portfolio that meets or exceeds targets for greenhouse gas emissions. Finally, many other ideas about what constitutes a positive or goal-oriented alternative exist.
