In ancient days girl was a gender that was a symbol of wealth in African traditional society since when she gets married, the bride price is exchanged with her. But nowadays the attention of her being a symbol of wealth is not that much ordained, since constitution in some countries states that marriage is not a must as well as protecting girl child from being oppressed.
Girls nowadays are given the first priority of education unlike in the past where it was not a must that she is educated and the opportunity was given only to the opposite gender. In early age of her development, she is taken to school to acquire her basic education like boy child.
At teen age, girl is likely to pass through numerous challenges and temptations like having sex which later results to her getting unwanted pregnancy as well as getting infected to sexually transmitted infections. Girl
