Which has more impact in the preparation of a leader: experience or training? Why? Does the answer to this question differ between criminal justice organizations and the business world?
Training has more impact compared to the experience in the preparation of a leader. Training will help the leaders to get the theory part before practicing the leadership. Training will help the leader to identify the strengths and weaknesses before actually providing the leadership. On the other hand, the leaders will be able to know their strengths through training before providing the services. Importantly, in training, leaders tend to learn a lot of leadership styles and techniques within a short time compared to experience. The experience thus is the slowest process of preparing the leader.
