How Can the United States lessen its Dependence on Fossil Fuels?
Energy is very significant to life, and without it, the majority of people are likely to be left in both hunger and cold. Notably, the primary source of energy originates from fossil fuels such as oil, natural gas, and coal. However, oil is the most consumed energy conversion all over the world. The United States is one of the countries in the world that hugely depend on fossil fuels. According to the States Department of Energy, almost 85% of the total energy supply in the United States comes from fossil fuels. The increased use of fossil fuel in the country is as a result of high energy demands and poor efficiency practices. Notably, it takes both individuals and members of community actions to minimize the reliance on the usage fossil fuels in the United States. Several problems are associated with the fossil fuels, and therefore the United States should reduce relying so much on this form of energy. One of the disadvantages of using fossil fuels is that it has adverse effects on both the health of individuals and the environment. The proposal acknowledges changes in the form of transportation, using other means of energy, conservation in homesteads, and creating awareness as some of the solutions in reducing the dependence of fossil fuels.
