It may be assumed most at times but the most monumental query to so ask when there is need to determine where exactly the line should be drawn in relation to violence on the television is how much violence can the watchers take without it seeing dehumanization and also seeing that it is offensive?
A research in 2014 by New York Times indicates and shows that most television consumers blame violence on the television on the media. This they term as a fault and ramification for having insensitive media personnel.
It is however kernel to note that, with the pass of time, this generation has moved to embrace violence and has in fact marked anything with violence to be extremely entertaining. It is difficult for one to watch Nate Geo which has less violence and more talk. Anyone growing would prefer episodes of How To Get Away WIth Murder which has investigations on bloody murders to Nate Geo which would be continious talks about how animals breed and so on.
This has moved for the worse end as it has been inculcated to the children's programs too. When growing up, there's nothing i enjoyed than watching Teletubbies which involved some cartoons singing and sliding down the hills and playing in water. This is different in the current setting. Children grow up watching Kung fu Panda which sees fighting and violent acts as the way to resort issues and also as the way to save the world.
In as much as the above is true, it is cardinal to note that media houses have transformed and they are no longer informative entities alone. They have been swallowed as a money making entities which will do whatever it takes to make money. The whatever it takes in this essence entail, evolving with time and embracing the fact that the current generation loves violence in whatever they consume from the televise than mere talk. That being the case, they have seen ways to ensure that most of their programs befit the consumers demands and desires.
