Are Cats better Pets than Dogs?
There have been heated debates on whether cats are superior pets to dogs since the dawn of time. The controversy hinges on the fact that both dogs and cats provide social and health benefits to humans. However, while both animals possess unique set of qualities that render them adorable, only one can reign supreme. The independent spirit and the inspired playfulness of cats, coupled with their low maintenance lifestyle, are the secret envy of many humans (Arahori et al., 2017). From their ease of care, to their adorable antics and cleanliness, there is plenty of proof that cats make better pets than dogs.
Cats are largely more affordable than dogs. To begin with, although acquiring a specific breed of a kitten can be expensive, the adoption fees for cats are lower compared to those of dogs or puppies. For instance, puppies require ongoing training, particularly for potty training, while kittens can be left at home unsupervised once they are weaned from their mothers and trained on the basics of using the litter box. Furthermore, cats, unlike dogs, clean themselves. Although cat owners may want to groom them with a brush once in a while, felines do a great job of keeping themselves clean. Dogs, on the other hand, love rolling around in things that smell bad such as poop, dead animals, and garbage. As such, dogs necessitate routine grooming and bathing, which are
