Why does individual pay for bottled water?
These days, a lot of people utilize bottled water for drinking purposes. It is a common practice to consume bottled water rather than other forms of drinking water. This paper tends to determine the varying reasons that shape consumer behaviour as well as influences it to opt for bottled water.
The emergences of enhanced technology enabled humankind to assess their surroundings in order to determine the risks of contamination that could lead to severe health consequences (Vasquez et.al, 2009, pp. 3391-3400). The increase in the awareness of people regarding the impurities and contaminations in running tap water or other forms of prevalent drinking water supply heightened their concerns to find a healthier solution.
Heightened awareness led to the emergences of bottled water revolution that allowed people to make ethical as well as healthier choices in consuming water for drinking purposes. People willingly pay quite an expensive price to consume bottled drinking water as it guarantees cleanliness, safety, and free from contamination. Many people pay for bottled water as they feel it is the right thing to do for their families.
However, in an attempt to safeguard their health, people encourage use and manufacture of plastic that causes severe risks to the Earth’s environment (Thompson et.al, 2009, 2153-2166). In addition, people tend to ignore the various health consequences of consuming water from plastic bottles. The prevalent method of bottling water in glass bottles is an expensive intervention that compels entrepreneurs to produce plastic bottles, which are cheaper (Halden, 2010, pp. 179-194). However, it is imperative that the government and the manufacturing industry identify other sources of containing water other than plastic that is safe for humankind as well as mother earth.
The overall monetary subsidence is taking its toll on FIJI Water's main concern suggesting that the organization will need to conveniently change how it works together with a specific end goal to stay productive in an inexorably aggressive filtered water industry (Kaplan, 2007, pp. 685-706).
