To meet the objectives of this assignment, the issue which has been identified is nurse burn out syndrome as an effect of mindfulness among registered nurses. According to Nantsupawat, de Paiva, Canário, de Paiva China, & Gonçalves (2017) burnout syndrome results from chronic stress in the work place with symptoms such as emotional exhaustion, decreased professional performance, depersonalization. Further, it is characterized by a lack of energy or feeling energy depleted and low work motivation and is also caused by heavy workloads at the work places. Burnout syndrome usually affects healthcare practitioners such as nurses because of the intensity and continuous nature of contact with patients under their care. Consequently, the development of better interventions could result in improved patient care as well as positive patient outcomes in all health centres. Most nurses who have burnouts lack motivation and self-satisfaction from the job, thereby not giving patients the best quality of care. According to Wang, Liu, & Wang (2015), to reduce nurse burnouts efficiently, health facilities administrators should focus on improving nurse’s self-efficacy and their professional nursing practice environment and reduce the number of stressors in health facilities. As Lewis & Cunningham (2016) point out, burnout and other engagements are the crucial factors that affect patient safety and the functioning of organizations. This could be due to work environment characteristics, which could result in employee burnout and general work-life quality.

B1. Background of the article
The purpose of Guillaumie, Boiral and Champagne (2017) article was to review studies on the effects of mindfulness-based interventions for nurses as well as nursing that was published between 1980-2014. Objectively, the article sought to find out the impact of mindfulness on nurses and nursing practices in regards to the particular stressors of the nursing profession for instance the proximity to death and sickness as well as close contact with patients. This research was conducted because the researchers felt the influence of mindfulness on the nurses and the nursing students in their nursing practice or education. The researchers conducted this research because work-related stress among nurses is projected to be the major work-related health issue after musculoskeletal disorders. The studies used in the study included those that quantitatively or qualitatively examined the effects of interventions. Further, random controlled, quasi-controlled trials, mixed-methods studies were also included in the study.

Then later a thematic analysis method was applied to the data. The results of controlled trials were synthesized by applying a meta-analysis where necessary. Further, for continuous variables, a standardized mean difference was employed to estimate the pooled mean differences between the intervention and control groups by applying a random effect model. Similarly, statistical heterogeneity between the studies was measured via chi-square test. Lastly, all the outcomes of the study with their related tables were double-checked during the study.

           Based on the above analysis of the research-based journal, the study confirms that past studies show that mindfulness significantly affects the mental status of nurses thereby influencing their productiveness in their work places. Further, this study was unique in the sense that it used a mixed method in analysing past studies conducted on the effect of mindfulness-based interventions on nursing students and registered nurses. Therefore, this study will act as a benchmark for designing educational interventions geared at improving mental health practitioners’ size of mindfulness and self-care when faced with so many dynamic environments. Nevertheless, this research article answers my evidence-based practice question on nurses' mindfulness, which leads to burnout.

The main objective of this research was to investigate the impact of a mindfulness-based stress reduction intervention on a cohort of critical care nurses in terms of quality of live, perceived stress, mindfulness awareness, sickness as well as absence rates. The sample sizes that were used in this study were sufficient to make correct conclusions regarding the research topic (Dang, & Dearholt, 2017). Similarly, the article's general conclusion is pretty absolute that mindfulness training is a feasible and accepted intervention which critical care nurses could benefit from with regards to their quality of life, perceived stress, and their mindfulness awareness.
