The first-ever description of Rheumatoid Arthritis is found in Augustine Jacob Landre-Beauvais's dissertation in the year 1800. Even Rheumatoid Arthritis is believed to have existed more than 2300 years ago. Throughout history, the various types of Rheumatoid Arthritis, such as Macedonian, Greek, and Egyptian, were known in the 19th and 20th centuries (Deane & Holers, 2019). The disease can start at any age; however, the likelihood of occurrence increase with age and is high among adults in their 60s and 70s (Deane & Holers, 2019). studies also reveal that Rheumatoid Arthritis cases are three times higher in females and men. Recent studies show more than 58 600 cases of Rheumatoid Arthritis, and the majority (77%) are women. The primary race is Caucasians, accounting for 64% of the total incidences (Deane & Holers, 2019).

Rheumatoid Arthritis, commonly known as RA, is an inflammatory and autoimmune disease. Individuals' immune systems attack their body's healthy cells by mistake, leading to painful swellings in the affected parts. Rheumatoid Arthritis mainly attacks the joints and often several joints simultaneously. The joints commonly affected include those at the hand, knees, and wrist. The joint lining is inflamed, leading to tissue damage, leading to chronic and long-lasting pain, lack of balance, and misshapenness (Bodkhe et al., 2019).
