Introduction
This paper aims to assess the social and environmental determinants of health such as, the influence of early childhood life, Food, poverty and personal health strategies on diabetes. The essay will focus on the how these factors influence diabetes in person. Additionally, this paper attempts to describe instances of community engagement and empowerment tactics, challenges experienced by nurses caring for diabetes patients, and self-care techniques that nurses can use to preserve their own wellbeing and serve as role models for others.

Stress is a trigger mechanism for Diabetes, Stress is associated with immunological and hormonal changes in the human body. Stress is believed to be the initiator of the hormone triggering a response, and it controls the mental state ability of a person (Mohamed et al., 2016). As per the research article of Yeh et al., (2015), hormones regulate based on a person’s feelings. Hormonal changes can disrupt the immunological balance, increasing the risk of autoimmunity and Diabetes, to use Diabetes as an example. Study of Lord et al., (2014), reports that elevated cortisol levels trigger an acute response to stress that directly affects the metabolism and the immune system. The primary issue with cortisol increase is that it directly affects insulin resistance, which puts stress on the beta cells of the pancreas (Kamba et al., 2016).
Children who are reported to deal with stress in their early life have shown higher levels of C-reactive proteins than average (Elmas et al., 2017). However, an adult with a history of childhood abuse reported a high inflammatory cytokine level. It is generally observed that one specific psychological stressor, which behaves as a severe life event, tends to change the thinking perspective of the person. Early severe life events (SLE) are linked to an increase in Diabetes risk and autoimmunity of pancreatic islets.
