Introduction
Lack of information affects the decisions that patients make on treatment options that they should be given. Healthcare workers need to understand the laws relating to the treatment of patients with stroke, ethical values, and cultural differences when treating stroke patients. The issues such as informed consent, patient-physician relationship, and regulations on malpractice are central in provision of healthcare services. In African countries people lack information on signs of a stroke, thus, they are likely to perceive it as a divine punishment. Addressing the ethical issues, legal hurdles, and cultural barriers that prevents access to treatment by patients suffering from a stroke is integral in increasing access to quality treatment.
