Nuclear medicine is a recent and special discipline in medicine that exploits radioactive materials in the treatment, imaging, and diagnosis of illnesses. In particular, nuclear imaging employs ‘endoradiology’ techniques, which record radiation emitted within the body as opposed to radiation that is produced from outside resources, such as X-rays. Besides, these imaging methods introduce minute levels of radioactive elements into the body that are then tracked by a sensing device (Smith-Bindman et al., 2012). Today, the applications of nuclear medicine vary and have been used widely in different fields. For example, radiation has been broadly employed to destroy diseased and cancerous tissues, which standard surgical techniques cannot detect. This paper, therefore, primarily aims to examine the various methods and ideas associated with nuclear medicine,
