Introduction
The history of revolution of America can be traced back in 1765 to 1783. It was a political convolution where some American colonies resisted the reign and colonization by the Great Britain and founded the United States which was an independent nation. During this period the American territories were under the British rule, where all the resources and economic activities were being controlled by the British government (Bailyn 83). The American Revolution started early 1760 representatives of the American Colonial Society stepped forward and refused taxation imposed to them by the British government together with other policies which were formed to suppress and sabotage the American economy. There were a number of mechanisms that was employed to kick out the British rule out of America and founded of the free United States of America (Bailyn 82-84).
There were a number of strategies that America employed to reclaim its freedom from the British rule. The first one was the refusal of taxation starting from 1765. Members of the American Colonial Society championed the Americans in rejecting the imposing of taxation by the British government as well as protesting against discriminative policies that were meant to sabotage the American people. This was followed by the thorough protest by colonists who named themselves Patriots. They destroyed the agreement and the consignment meant to tax tea in favor of East Indian Company. In response to the vandalization of the consignment, the British government put to a halt the Boston Harbor (Bailyn 87).
It demanded the repayment of the destroyed property otherwise the harbor would remain closed. In late 1774. The Patriots formed their worn separate government that was meant to reinforce their rebellion and resistance to the British government. On the flip side, the other group of people referred as the Loyalist or collaborators remained aligned and conformed to the British rule without resisting. This led to a formation of two groups, those who opposed the British rule and those who compromised with it. By 1776, the Patriots group had reclaimed several American territories while others remained under the control of the British government. One of the main reason for the rebel beside independence was to strongly oppose and refuse the policies and rules that the Great Britain was using on the American soil. These policies among them the taxation were used to mistreat and milk the American economy in favor of Great Britain Washington (1775-79).
Protests escalated until in April 1776 when the fight broke out between the Patriots and the British militia. The fight expanded until it later became a world war in which the Patriots and their allies including the French, the Dutch and Spanish collaborated together to fight the British government. The major reason for the outbreak of the fight between America and Great Britain was as a result of the constant conflict that was rekindled by the members of the American Colonial Society. America wanted freedom and independence while the Great Britain wanted to perpetuate their colonial rule. This was the main reason for the endless discord between these two regions which later amounted to a global war.
The Patriots later formed Provincial Congresses that took the power from the old colonial nations and suppressed loyalism. The Congresses pioneered the ejection of the British rule from America removing all the policies and reclaiming back the territories that had been by them grabbed by the British government. Between 1775 and 1783 Provincial Congresses formed a Continental Army that was led by General George Washington (Raphael 2221).
The Continental Army was to reinforce the fight against the British army and withdraw their force from America. A combination of the American-French army got hold of a British army at Yorktown in 1782. This was the last bit of the endless war and the conflict was then effectively ended. The fight was officially ended by the Treaty of Paris in 1784 which then confirmed that America was now free and separate from the British Empire. The United States then reclaimed all the territories on the eastern side of Mississippi River and southern part of Great Lakes, whereas Britain remained with Canada and Florida under Spanish rule.
Some of the constructive outcomes of the American Revolution was the writing of the new Constitution of the United States (Jameson 69). The new constitution strongly esta...
