History is amazing to learn as it gives an individual an idea of how things transpired during a certain past period. Nonetheless, it is even more exciting that through history, one learns how the turn of events led to other occurrences directly or indirectly. Understanding how one event contributed to another is tough unless one takes a thorough look as revisionists do. Revisionists like to take a second, more critical look at people and events in history. By taking such a closer look, revisionists try to understand whether the opinion about the significance of the person or event changed over time (Cattini, 2011). Also, the revisionists look at a forgotten or ignored person or event in history or group of people and explain something important missed. An excellent example of a global historical event that revisionists would be interested in taking a keen look is the Industrial Revolution. Most scholars and historians look at this event only in the light of new manufacturing processes. However, the Industrial Revolution had far-reaching impacts on the global turn of events. What is normally overlooked is that Industrial Revolution contributed to the Great Wars because it revolutionized how wars were fought, led to the establishment of huge and sophisticated weapon industries, and enhanced growth of healthy populations that could enlist in the military.
