In 1961 John F Kennedy became the 35 president of the United States, as Jacqueline Lee Bouvier Kennedy became the third youngest first lady at the age of 31. Jacqueline Kennedy was a journalist, and she worked as a camera girl for the Washington Times-herald newspaper. In her role as the first lady, she determined to make changes using her influence as the first lady that led to reconfiguring the definition of the first lady role.
First of all, Jacqueline Kennedy was a well-qualified person that studied art, understood history; also she traveled for studying abroad in Paris and graduated with a B.A in French literature in 1951. Until the meeting with her future husband in 1952, she was a highly qualified girl with great communication ability, furthermore, she encouraged Kennedy after they got married to write a book as she helped him in editing. During the presidency campaign in1960, she was pregnant that she could not join JFK on the campaign route. However, she managed to work for the campaign from home. For example, she made interviews, responded to letters, managed commercials and wrote a weekly newspaper column called "Campaign Wife"
