RITE OF PASSAGE
My most significant rite of passage was the naming ceremony that I underwent as a toddler. I might not have been aware of the ritual but my parents later related it to me in detail. The event aimed at giving me a name and identify my godparents. According to the BBC (2009), this ritual involves the recitation of poems and prose readings.
The rite was meaningful to me since it is through it that I got my name and had various people vow to support me through my childhood and help me acquire the skills of leading a successful life.
