The death penalty is a practice still upheld in some states in the United States of America. Alice et al. (n.d.) state that the death-qualified jury hears and determines cases with a capital sentence. Each jury member undergoes vetting, and all individuals strictly against capital punishment are dismissed from the panel. However, the jurors must be impartial and not believe that every capital punishment requires a death sentence (Alice et al., n.d.). Conclusively, the death penalty jury is a group of jurors with impartial and logical views on capital sentence who preside on cases with a prospective death penalty sentence.
