First amendment zones have been used for a while since they were first implemented Peter Drucker. It has shown great success in many places and in creating a great buffer for violence and riots. With any policy as we know there must be some challenges and with time there must be implementations to help keep the policy great at what it does. As the first amendment zone was made sometime back it cannot work for all the current situations in the country. There are a few recommendations that I would like to pitch in to help keep first amendment zones working especially the upcoming DRNC event.
The freedom to speech is something that has been suppressed when it comes to first amendment zones. Most of the demonstrations are supposed to be peaceful, somewhat quiet and monitored by the police. Demonstrators are supposed to be allowed to speak their mind freely. The first amendment zones may prohibit them from using speakers which can help them voice their demands and issues (O’Neill, 2015). This right has been passed by the bill of rights therefore the public is entitled to it. The greatest problem with this is that there maybe issues of deformation which is a crime. If there problems like these then the people responsible should be charged to serve as examples to others.
Areas of demonstrations are very restricted under the first amendment zones. This gives the people less grounds to air out their views. The areas of demonstrations are set so as to avoid violence. If demonstrations are to occur they are not to be restricted to one place but they should be allowed their movement as they air out their views. This could turn out sour as the demonstrators may be out of control in the large scale area. The demonstrators should feel like they have a sense of freedom with the non-
