This article provides valuable insight on how the term “destinations” have over the years shaped the way people view tourism, especially when it entails travelling as part of the package. There is a great need to rethink how the issues of destination can be packaged in a manner that captures the postmodern realities of the twenty-first century. The author asserts that while the traditional view of a destination has largely focused geographical features and the systemic concept of tourism destinations has focused on the interaction between tourists, the staff in industries providing tourism services, and the local population, more recent conceptualizations of tourism destinations treat destinations as complex adaptive systems that adapt to ever-changing economic, political, and social trends (Jovicic, 2016). The insight that this author gives regarding the need for tourist managers to rethink the issue of destinations is important in helping All-Terrain Vehicle find the most suitable destinations that can be attractive to the social class that it is targeting. The geographical attributes of tourism destinations represent the key component of their resource base. This fact should be borne in mind in future conceptualizations of destinations (Jovicic, 2016). In this light, this literature is helpful in shaping the marketing strategies of the firm.
