The COVID-19 global pandemic is estimated to have claimed over 3 million lives and has left 146 million cases, with an estimated 1% of the world’s population dead. COVID-19 spread across the world and every country took actions economically, politically, and socially to mitigate its effects. People altered their lifestyles to keep themselves and their friends and family safe. It was a time of change and adjustment to stop the spread of the virus so that life could be restored back to normal. However, some spheres of life such as the economy were affected much greater than others. The COVID-19 pandemic has led to many negative economic impacts across the world, which prompts a need to establish an intervention that will help curb the spread and embark on normal operations.

The most common signs and symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. However, some people may not show any signs or symptoms at the beginning stages of the virus. COVID-19 may also result in kidney or respiratory failure.
The severity of the COVID-19 resulted in the need for fast action to take place as the transmission of the disease is highly contagious. The World Health Organization made many decisions to help control the virus. In China, the government implemented a 14-day surveillance period and started a mass closure of public spaces, which included schools and businesses. In response to the outbreak, countries started legislation to monitor their populations for signs of infection and illness, which includes being quarantined if exhibiting symptoms.
