Diversity and Individual Differences (Essay Sample)

Instructions:

Diversity in the workplace refers to the individual differences existing amongst the stakeholders, such as employees. Diversity includes how individuals identify themselves, and how others perceive them. In the workplace, diversity includes race, gender, religion, age, ethnic groups and other distinct differences amongst people (Dyson, n.d.). We live in a diverse world, though, the differences among us do not matter as much as we think, feel, and behave in a diverse context. Nevertheless, the differences amongst us can be used in understanding and predicting behaviors. Essentially, some types of differences have shown to be more useful than others in understanding and predicting behaviors. In reference to Kiniki & Fugate (2018), individual differences are the attributes that define each individual, such as their behaviors. These individual differences in a person’s attitude or beliefs influence employees in the workplace.
