The contemporary days are characterized by globalization. As the global interaction and integration of trades, cultures, information technology, and investment progresses, so does organized crime. The convectional tier of organized crimes have notably decreased, and have been replaced by irregular but highly organized criminal networks. (Ferrara, 2015). As such, the following document will assess criminal justice system from a global perspective, to encompass impact of globalization on U.S criminal justice system, a comparison of various international justices systems, impact of cyber related crimes on U.S criminal justice system, as well as it is imperative to compare and contrast international criminal justice systems and major crimes that have impacted international justice system
Impact of Globalization on United States Criminal Justice System
The American criminal justice system encompasses correctional facilities, the courts, and the law enforcements authorities. The impact of globalization on the American justice system is profound. It has integrated the country’s criminal justice system with the rest of the global communities’ criminal justice systems.
In the U.S, law enforcement authorities and agencies can now acquire information concerning suspected criminals within a short time as opposed to the past where such would take long periods of time (Moore, R. H., & Fields, 2015). According to “The globalization of crime” (1999), the United Nations Survey of Crime Trends and Operation of Criminal Justice systems (UNCJS) have largely contributed in enhancing criminal justice by gathering information to help criminal justice systems as well as organizations determine the trends of crimes and their impacts on the state, country or the individual organizations. Criminal issues and major crimes can cause challenges for the criminal justice systems around the globe since significant amount of time is taken away from various things of national importance.
