Misrepresentation of data is an apparent error that often occurs in statistics. The margin of errors might be provided for, but often the error is huge such that it changes the interpretation and outcome of the data represented. Misrepresentation of data might be caused by incompatible definitions, or genuine errors by the statistician. The realistic view on the interpretation of the data shows the error despite having realistic parameters misses the meaning. The importance of accuracy in statistics allows for accurate interpretation within a given dataset that represents a whole population. Data as a point of reference for interpretation is crucial since it helps explain certain complex issues in the world. This essay analyzes certain misrepresented datasets and examines alternative theories on representing data correctly.
