Endangered Species Recovery
Endangered species are species that are likely to go extinct in the near future if they are not protected or put in a controlled environment. Some examples of the endangered species around the world include the Javan Rhinoceros, Siberian tigers, elephants, Amur leopards, ivory-Billed Woodpecker etc.
I disagree with the opponents as every plant and animal is part of the ecosystem and it is also part of the food chain. When some species becomes endangered, this is an indication of the imbalance of the environment, man-made disasters, climatical changes and pollution.
It is important to preserve and protect these endangered species as they may have values yet undiscovered for example the cure for cancer. Protecting these endangered species is important as they can provide an economic value in future and also they are beautiful CITATION Pet03 \l 1033 (Braynt, 2003).
An example of an endangered species that were recovered is cheetahs. Cheetahs live in central and south western Kenya, Botswana and Niger. In Kenya there are approximately 700 cheetahs with a world population around 7000. They are often hunted by farmers who are trying to protect their livestock. Also human beings have been found to have encroached the habitat of the wildlife by affecting the pastures of the gazelles. This leads to less food for the gazelles and they in turn reduce in numbers which leads to reduced gazelles for the cheetahs to feed on. Another example are the Aleutian Canada goose which were once driven extinct by foxes introduced to their nesting islands in Alaska. The species grew from 790 birds to 60,000 between 1975 and 2005.
Biodiversity is the short form for biological diversity.it describes ecosystem and cultural diversity and the relations between these and all the species. Biodiversity has an intrinsic value which argues that humans are part of nature. Biodiversity also have economic benefits in that it provides us with goods that can be valued and costed because they offer raw products that ...
