Content:

Albert Camus and Richard Taylor use the myth of Sysiphus to draw their conclusions on the meaning of life, below is their different approaches;
From the image of the myth of Sisyphus, Richard Taylor was a renowned philosopher who was known for his contributions to metaphysics. He suggested that people should examine the idea of a meaningless existence so that it can be contrasted with a meaningful life. Taylor addresses the notion of whether life has any meaning by debating on the venerable mythos of Sisyphus, where he brings up with some controversial variations to alter individual’s perspective on the trivial corporality of Sisyphus (Klemke & Cahn, p. 350).
On the other hand, Albert Camus, a poet, philosopher, and a journalist claim in the book “The Mythos of Sisyphus” that the only vital philosophical problem is whether an individual should continue to live or die, that is suicide. He suggests that people do take their lives since they think that their lives are meaningless (Klimke & Cahn, p. 358). Therefore, it can be noted that the question of meaning supersedes all other issues such as scientific or philosophical questions. The act of separation from the entire world is what Camus calls absurdity, a feeling that may lead to suicide if not properly managed. Most people have interpreted the myth of Sisyphus stating that it symbolizes the struggle and endless thirst to move ahead with great discouragement in life. Therefore, this paper has been conceived to explain the sense of life based on the mythos of Sisyphus as portrayed by Albert Camus and Richard Taylor.
