What does the Balswick & Balswick textbook say about "mature differentiation?"
Today many individuals are choosing to live with their significant others without being legally married, and the fortunate one that agrees to get married legally have a 50 per cent of staying married (Hirsch, Hirsch, & Wardlow, 2006). Those in marriages quotes being unsatisfied in their matrimony. These issues on marriages have sparked research, and many researchers are trying to compare and contrast what was working back then and what is lacking today. Many individuals still show interest and are optimistic of the marriage institution, but chances of happy unions are declining day by day. A potential explanation of the seen disturbance in the popular union may be said to be based on individuals expecting too much of the glorified union despite the couple involved not investing enough effort and time for the expectations to be realized. According to Balswick & Balswick (2008) marriage is a holly place in which profound personal, emotional, spiritual, and sexual growth is possible. This partnership between a wife and a husband is viewed as an entity that cannot be accomplished alone. Committing towards each other through the journey of life, partners get to enjoy the benefits of differentiation, united strength and connection.
