Introduction
The tacit morals of the horror genre and fairytales imply that the beautiful women in these stories must be unaware of their beauty, if they know they are beautiful they are considered vain and therefore, the women must die a painful death for their sin because of this society places blame on the victims of these crimes. Fairy tales states that our surrounding is an erratically destructive and antagonistic; also its resources are unpredictable. Furthermore, sometimes our family members can be traitorous and murderous, we may undergo torments at our critical point in life, and consequently, both suffering and revulsion may not have relation to innocent and merit. On other hand, animals can be our saviors as waves and winds mobilize to rescue us. Additionally, lost people (parents) may speak to their relatives through trees (fairy godmothers). In both Horror genre and Fairy Tale, the qualities of the female are debated throughout the two stories. For instance, some people, for example, Karen Rowe, think that fairy tales exhibit self-sacrifice, dependency, and passivity.
To begin with, submission is a complicated idea in both story, however, depending on how an individual vies at the submission idea of Madame Le Prince de Beaumont's form of the beauty, the beauty of women is viewed different ways by the society. There are various scenes in the story where women have been treated like animals. Therefore, according to the writer, almost in all society male are dominant and female are submissive and the story totally dismisses that there is no time women will be dominant through their submissiveness. It is also evident in both horror genre and fairy tales that the society does not value the beauty of someone, but her/ his inner heart.
Furthermore, most society views women as submissive creatures. In the stories, subservient women idea is common and is currently known as simply due to the period at which fairy tale originated, however, it is very easy for someone to understand that Beaumont was performing her responsibilities by educating young miscues the significant features ladies must possess in order to be accepted by the society. Apparently, the physiognomies of beauty indicate that women are always submissive to their counterpart and what male decides is final to the society; women cannot make any decision to the family. They are only supposed to handle what they are told by the male characters. From the fairy tales story, Madame Le Prince uses her story to deceive people (the girls who were under her charge) into accepting that they will realize their dreams in future if they deny themselves some necessities in their life. Therefore, women are supposed not to be superficial beautiful because if they realize they are beautiful, they will be viewed by the society as prostitutes and not allowed to be part of the society.
In addition, in both epics, beautiful women are treated like slaves, for instance, Belle stays as a slave with her father. She does not deny any decision made by her father or even questions and if she finds it’s not good, but she is forced to accept it or vacate the house. Her father in both horror and fairy tales is a representative of the male role in the society where all female have to surrender to. Also, they symbolize responsibilities women are expected to adhere to if they want to be part of the society.
Furthermore, vanity is a sin; from the story, some female characters passed away while trying to be more beautiful, for instance, the first two deaths witnessed in the epic are caused by objects which were associated with improving sexually attraction of women. Therefore, it is possible that women may end up killing herself when attempting to become attractive to men. The society prefers them only to carry out their household, but not engage in some beautiful affairs. Though the message is dented with the end of the tale when Snow White was saved by the prince because of her beauty, it is not always good for women to focus mainly on their personal appearance.
Although Snow White is beautiful like the light of the day, the mirror begins to deliver some critical truth, thus making her ashamed. Consequently, the queen tries to murder her several times before succeeding. The White snow responds childishly to this action and this makes the society viewed women with contempt.
Marian Belle being the main character in the epic stays with her father. Her father is known by many people in the town as a crazy man, thus many individuals view her as a simple out of the ordinary. Even though Belle is among the most beautiful ladies in the city, her name also means beauty, and her wonderful appearance is evidently shown throughout the epics, for example, for any occasion, Gaston courageously approaches Belle proposing to marry her. In addition, all men in the town look at her and are willing to do anything in order to win her. But the society sees this as prostitution and therefore, beautiful women are treated with less respect in the society.
Nonetheless, after Belle looking through his beauty, she realizes that he is mean and fools having no experience in love. However, there appears a prince nearby the citadel. He decides to knock the door and is offered a shelter from the cold. Surprisingly the window is seen turning into the prices when he answered no and the flower curse changed him into a beast. This makes the society hate beautiful women because they cannot actually be real human being. Sometimes, beautiful woman has to undergo victimization in the society. The society views them as the agents of the evil in the world.
To make the matter worse, the society in this epic has restricted men from marrying women of certain appearance. For example, the prince finds it difficult to marry outside appearance, because he is cursed. He can only break the curse once he finds women from within the community. Though most of the audiences have no idea about the feminism in this movie, it is evidently demonstrated throughout the epic. For example, Belle while walking in the city, she noticed significant parts of the movie showing traditional ways of living with working husband as the wife takes care of all household chores. In addition, when you recapped the parts much time, you will notice that there are many displays of such dogmatic environment. Actually, it is very abnormal that all men in the city pay attention to the beautiful women, and at the end, they end up suffering because the physical characters displayed by these women are not what their inner heart is.
Basically, not mentioning how women are taken as slaves in their own society. I fully agree with the author of this epic. By Disney displaying the post, we can understand how women and ladies are treated by the society. Similarly, in a scene where the window is holding four children longing for sex from a certain man for some cents and a man is shunting her like a cat shows how women are being mishandled by the society. It also reveals that women are facing financial problem thus they are ready to sell their body in order to get money. The resources including employment opportunities are not shared equally in the society. Personally, I can say that it is very difficult to recognize this horrible picture displays representing feminism. Therefore, it is important to pay full attention to what is happening to the main characters in the movie.
Besides, the society views woman as the creature which is not supposed to pass through the education system. For instance, when Belle is completing her walk in the homophobic city, Justin appears in front of her and grasps the book that she was reading. To make matter worse, Justine says that it is wrong for the woman to read the book. They, however, asked among themselves several questions while they were walking back home. Nevertheless, according to me, it is not important for children to watch this epic, because if they realize that the movie has feminism towards the female, they may get upset. Contrary, old people may pick up some of these unnecessary parts, thus getting disappointment.
In addition, it is very hurting to see that in these innocent epic things of this kind are taking place. Definitely, these are some of the symptoms of the feminism. Despondently but confidently most events of feminism in this movie had some samples. Furthering, we can see Justine proposing to Belle. This happens after forcing himself rudely into the house depicting how women are being mistreated in the society by men. Though the proposal comes as a surprise, the whole city views it as no big deal claiming that she is always used to such proposal. This view also carries a hidden meaning. Therefore, the view of town represents how the society has considered women. Also, it can be concluded that Belle is a loose woman.
It is also surprising that Justin already ponders how their life will be like and yet he has not received any response from Belle. He is seen illustrating how this may kill the fire. Unfortunately, Justin is kicked out of the house. Therefore, from Justin expectation, we can conclude that men in this town (society) expects women to handle all responsibilities including giving birth to more than six children, for example, Belle’s father though is creepy he is created short and round. In addition, the little servant of Gustan just like Belle is created with different measures.
Likewise, according to society, the beautiful women are considered to as an evil. Therefore, if a woman knows that she is beautiful the society considers her as an evil because most of them end up doing things that are not allowed in the society.
