Flexibility is a key element of employee performance and motivation. Organizations which have flexible work time frames for employees enjoy benefits, such as high employee performance, effective communication, high productivity, and worker engagement. Therefore, companies implement different strategies to enhance their workplace flexibility. One of such management policies is the Work from Home Policy (WFH). It promotes employee efficiency and organizational culture by enhancing flexibility. The approach has pluses and minuses, and managements can enhance the policy by addressing its disadvantages.
The Work from Home Policy has become common in companies because it improves employee performance. The presence of modern collaboration tools makes the approach an attractive option for workers. Although some companies are reluctant to embrace the policy, organizations which have been ranked as the best places to work provide their employees with flexible telecommuting options and schedules. The approach ensures flexibility as it allows a staff member to work from home. Therefore, employers have to maintain communication with their employees who are to work in conditions that they consider optimum and appropriate for their particular task.
