Question 1
My mother died while I was barely eight years old. I am the first born child to my mother and it was my responsibility to take care of the rest of my siblings which was not an easy task.
Question 2
The memory of the event may not be such accurate because it happened when i was very young and that was more than a decade ago. The fact that my mother was a single mother and we had to be adopted by two separate Christian families who were to take care of us implies that I cannot recall al the events that followed clearly since there is no one else with first-hand information.
Question 3
The loss was unexpected and this created a lot of trauma to me. Up to this day, I have never forgotten the pain I went through before we were adopted by the Christian family who promised to provide for our needs until we were able to take care of ourselves. I really lost sense of security and belonging, was filled with fear, grief and a lot of sadness. She was the only source of our safety, survival, comfort and stability and I can conclude that since then; the life of my siblings and mine have taken a drastic turn which can never be reversed. The most memorable instance is that we had to part with two of my siblings who were taken in by another Good Samaritan family while I was to remain with the youngest one. Up to date, we have never met and the memories keep haunting me. I am deeply worried on their current state of life and generally their whereabouts. I have the fear that my other siblings who we separated are living a messy life under the care of the new family just like I went through.
The fact that I was the eldest of my siblings has made me work hard all through my life with the hope that I will be able to reunite my family and restore the happiness and joy we had with our mother alive. Growing with children of another person and whom one has no blood relations is not as easy as it sounds, and that is why I have worked hard all along to seek my independency as early as possible.
Question 3
The fact that I have had to face various people in search of some kind of assistance especially with the funding of my studies and that of my siblings has made me a highly interactive person. I can fit into all groups of people easily. I have learnt to be highly responsible with myself and when dealing with other people.
On the other end the experience of growing up with kids from another family has not been so good since at times I face some form of discrimination without anyone to protest to. This has had some negative impact on my self-esteem, where in most case I feel inferior before other children especially those who come from stable background families.
My experience has thought me the importance of being good to others regardless they are relatives or whom to me. This is due the fact that all my assistance has been from people who are not relatives or others helping me while being aware that we will never meet again or who there are minimal chances they may need my assistance. This i...
