Moreover, during this wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, bicycle riding has gained even more popularity, with people practicing the health protocols of social distancing. Cycling has significant economic, health, and environmental benefits to the government and the community. Blondiau et al. (2016) argue that apart from job creation in manufacturing, retailing, bicycle tourism, and infrastructure, more than 600 000 jobs in Europe have been created for the local and less skilled laborers. Besides job creation, cycling is a cost-benefit economic activity. While cycling offers a solution for the traffic congestion experienced on most roads, people who cycle are exempted from the operational costs of maintaining a vehicle.
