Beyonce has a Positive Influence
Beyonce is one of the most famous women in the world yet remains extremely humble. At the same time, she believes in respect and equality. In fact, when the singer and her husband hosted a fundraiser for President Obama's reelection campaign, the Commander -in- Chief endorsed her as the ideal role model to his daughters. What is more, Michelle Obama had already said that she would want to emulate the celebrity (“Obama Endorses Beyonce”). Beyonce's philanthropy, humility, and positive attitude makes her a positive influence for women and girls around the world.
Moreover, it is also worth mentioning that Beyonce has been active in raising funds for charities during her entire career. More specifically, she is a founder of Survivor Foundation, an organization that helps victims of Katrina. Additionally, the artist was an ambassador for the International World Children's Day in 2005. Again, in 2004 she and rapper Jay-Z raised one million dollars for the Shawn Cater Foundation to provide scholarships for students from low-income families pursuing higher education (Lee).Lastly, in 2010, America's Council of Fashion Designers named her the face for the "Fashion for Haiti" T-shirt whereby proceeds were donated to Clinton Bush Haiti Fund.
Furthermore, Claire Elise Boucher, a Canadian celebrity, says that the success of Beyonce has positive moral implications. According to her, Beyonce represents women and people of color succeeding without comprising her beliefs and morals. What is more, she is interesting, has a positive attitude, and works hard. Unlike many celebrities in the music industry, the artist has not been caught using drugs and her lyrics have a meaningful message. Notably, she does not promote having illicit sex, drinking, and smoking. The musician sings and dances at the same time yet still sounds good. Without a doubt, her prowess is real and that is the reason she has been successful (Pelly).Lastly, the celebrity revealed on Oprah Winfrey's show that she had a miscarriage and subsequently felt very sad but she remained optimistic and conceived a few months later.
Conversely, Beyonce has been criticized by animal rights activists of being insensitive to the plight of animals that are killed for fur used in her clothing line. Again, her friend Kelly Lowland revealed that the singer is a messy person. In October 2015, Randy Taraborrelli published a book in which the author claims that the singer split with her husband for one year since she felt insecure. Additionally, some bloggers have accused her of being angry as a result of Jay-Z's close relationship with Rihanna. Beyonce has also been accused of being jealous of the latter who has received eight Grammy awards (Lee). Lastly, due to anger and disappointment, the celebrity fired her father who had been her manager for more than twenty years. She terminated his contract and stopped speaking to him since he sired a child out of wedlock.
