Effects of Carbohydrates Supplementation Resistance Training Performance (Essay Sample)

Instructions:

Long-term aerobic endurance-type activity depletes muscle glycogen, according to several studies. Anaerobic exercise has been shown to have the same effect on muscle glycogen stores as aerobic exercise (Roy & Tarnopolsky. Exercises that are anaerobic and intermittent, such as weight training, have been found to have a significant glycogenolytic effect. High-intensity resistance training appears to be an essential source of energy, even thouglycogen depletion beingng endurance exercise. Several studies have been carried out to better understand the effects of resistance training on the depletion of skeletal muscle glycogen, including one that determined the quantity of muscle glycogen drained after only one resistance training session.

Introduction
Long-term studies have revealed that aerobic endurance-type exercise depletes muscle glycogen significantly. According to a recent study, intermittent anaerobic exercise, such as weight training, has similar effects on muscle glycogen (Roy & Tarnopolsky, 1998). Routine activities have been shown to have a considerable glycogenolytic impact on muscle glycogen, and strength training exercises seem to have a similar effect (Haff, Lehmkuhl, McCoy, & Stone, 2003). According to several studies, strength training and other high-intensity intermittent exercise drain muscle glycogen significantly (Lambert, Flynn, Boone, Michaud, & Rodriguez-Zayas, 1991). According to this research, Glycogenolysis appears to be a significant source of energy during heavy resistance exercise (Haff et al., 2003). Resistance training has a range of impacts on skeletal muscle glycogen depletion, and several studies have been conducted to determine the amount of muscle glycogen depletion that happens after a single resistance training session has been completed.
