The agricultural industry is the largest consumer of water globally. 70 % of the annual water withdrawal globally is used in the agricultural industry. This industry uses water for irrigation of plants, aquaculture and uses by livestock. A lot of water is used especially in the irrigation sector that involves crop farming. It is essential to note farms waste a lot of water in their irrigation activities. The irrigation system is about 40% efficient thus its leads to wastage of water. The best way to minimize this wastage is to develop an efficient irrigation system for farmers. (Gude, 2017) How much plastic does a typical human consume in a year? And how long does it take to decay? An average person consumes about 200-kilo grams of plastic every year. This figure is expected to grow in the coming years due to the continuous expansion of world economies. The sad part is that majority of these plastics ends up in the ocean. About 80% of plastic waste reaches the ocean through industrial waste, rivers and municipal waste. Plastic pollution is tragic because it takes a long to decompose, probably 20 to 400 for it to decompose.
