Introduction
Defining diversity clearly has not been achieved yet large differences in people (Mannix & Neale, 2005). Hence, it is mainly categorized into two categories as surface-level diversity to define demographic difference and deep-level diversity to define the differences in beliefs and attitudes (Harrison et al, 2002). The increased diversity at workplaces promotes and effective interaction between people from various backgrounds (Johnston and Packer, 1987) which results in a great range of benefits (Konrad, 2003). The diversity experience and ideals as well as the diversity management conception of different people/ employees matter as it represents a picture of the recruitment in addition to life after recruitment. Different genders and ethnicity, workforce migration or immigration often change the workforce composition which in turns result in further deepening the diversity issue (Barak, 2005)
On the other hand, Equality at the workplace is providing equal opportunities to every participant in the organization including women and minority (Greene & Kirton, 2002). The use or lack of equality policies and practices at the workplace are highly responsible for the potential profits or loss of an organization according to the studies. According to a study laacking an equality management policy can be responsible for losing talented employees, increased labor turnover and bad reputation (Ozbilgin & Tatli, 2011). It can also result in less job satisfaction and lowered organizational commitment (Sanchez & Brock, 1996). Hence, managers need to be focused on managing workplace equality in order to avoid a lack of commitment and unfavorable allusions and remarks (Yang & Guy, 2006).
