This paper provides current information on tornado disaster threat and preparedness factors and emergency responses. Tornadoes can lead to extreme damage, such as the rooting out of trees and well-crafted buildings (Kirsch, pp2). These disasters are less than 100 meters wide and are only briefly affected. However, highly harmful tornadoes can open the way for over 50 miles. While violent tornados account for only 2% of tornadoes, almost 70% are responsible for tornado deaths. Tornadoes are formed by severe thunderstorms in wet, moist, unstable air and the cold front (Kirsch 2).
California is not known for tornadoes. With my expertise in the field in mind, someone must shut down services to prevent gas leakage, fires, and the resulting floods. Someone will have to radio to hear the weather updates andand the emergency bag must be taken to our shelter. A substantial building, including a safe space, a cellar, or a storm cellar, must be reached immediately.
Readiness for this disaster entails a two-to-three-day emergency supply package. The supply includes condensed milk, cookies, sour cream, sweets, trail mixes, snacks, boxed drinks, and dried fruits. The first aid kit included latex, sunscreen, jelly, petroleum gas bandages, drugs, vitamins, antidiarrheals, temperature gages, scissors, sterile pads, and antibiotics.
