As the reasons behind why veterans remain roaming in the streets, some reasons are contributed by their behaviors such open drunkenness and purposeless wandering.
Homelessness is distinguished into three groups: those who stay in a homeless shelter before returning to a permanent home, those that become homeless periodically but do not suffer there for long periods and those that are chronically homelessCITATION Loo \l 2057 (Looking at our homeless veterans programs: how effective are they?). Chronically homelessness may expose a person to suffer from mental illness or an addiction to substance use that leaves them with disorders. Homeless veterans fall under chronically homeless. It is from these facts of homeless people that we deduce that the main social problem faced by veterans is the lack of access to special medical care.
