Identity And Confusion As stated by psychologist Erik Erikson's theory. In the psychosocial development the fifth stage of ego is identity versus confusion stage. On the word of Erikson, this process is important since helps in forming a strong identity and developing a sense of direction in life. Going back while I was in adolescence stage, as I seek to establish a sense of self, as a teenager I experimented in stage with different behaviors, activities, and roles. While I was in this stage, I found myself receiving proper reinforcement and encouragement through personal exploration from my neighbor who was a doctor and my parents.
