Marriage is a beautiful rite of passage that enables couples to raise families and live happily. Successful marriages are those whose couples know each other through years of interactions. Some couples decide to stay together for some time before they are officially married. Other couples may opt to stay in separate places and move in after marriage. Cohabiting enables couples to share expenses and know each other before they get married although the practice may inconvenience partners who are not ready to settle and slay the flames of love after marriage.
The decision by couples to stay together before both parties usually make marriage as an agreement between them. One of the partners decides to move and live with the other person and share all their house expenses. Karen Skerrett (2016) affirms that the shared responsibilities including bills, food, and other house expenses enable couples to save enough money to be used during and after their wedding. For instance, the couples may decide to use one car for daily activities such as commuting to and from work. Other shared expenses include meals and personal effects. Couples should be encouraged to live together before marriage so that they can share expenses and save money for future use
