Ways in Which an Organization’s Strategic Imperative Affects Development
To deal effectively with various factors affecting the growth and development of a business, managers need advanced processes that will facilitate the proper positioning of the companies in the competitive environment. Such a position is only possible when a business conducts an appropriate strategic imperative because this activity increases the business' preparedness to compete in the ever-changing business world (Bitso et al., 2020). Therefore, the strategic imperative is a business initiative that is a must for all businesses striving to compete in the ever-changing business world. It implies vital business projects that are top priority and must accomplish duringa set duration to see the business scale towards its vision. Strategic imperative significantly affects how decisions are made about the pace of development in an organization.
A strategic imperative is a business goal given the highest priority. During strategic planning, business management evaluates the entire business and sets out plans to achieve. This planning helpsa business manage both the current and the future operations, and part of strategic imperative and planning helps the company identify its goals and targets (Aiswarya & Ramasundaram,2020).In addition, strategic imperative also sets individual employee and departmentalgoals.
In a business situation where the management is trying to accomplish business goals daily, the mindset is to do something every day. However small it may be, doing a small task every day gets the business a step towards its goals. Strategic imperative affects how the company makes development decisions in terms of finances; it affects the financial expenditure of an organization (Bonham& Green, 2021). To achieve its goals, a company requires financial support to run its activities. Strategic imperative directly controls the amount of money that a business needs to spend on prioritized projects. When a plan is a priority, the management must set aside funds to achieve this goal. An organization that strategically sets goals and preferences based on its financeshas control over the future.
Strategic imperative helps to set the direction for the management and the leadership of a business. When the business plan draws to prioritize projects, the management and the employees all direct their energy towards achieving the set goal. The organization, therefore, moves towards a specific direction in terms of workforce. With a strategic plan, an organization can evaluate its growth using achieved goals. Strategic imperative also allows an organization to be more proactive rather than reactive (D'Souza et al., 2021). Themanagement and the leadership of an organization through Strategic imperative can foresee the future of the business. The business management gets to anticipate certain activities that may affect the business operation by avoiding future setbacks. Finally, a strategic imperative helps the management in conducting business marketing research and development. Business research and development are areas in management that need proper skills, and when business leadership employs imperative strategic philosophies in conducting business research, they minimize business failure. Using strategic imperative techniques helps the business to identify future investment opportunities.
There are several ways in which a business can implement strategic imperatives in its leadership. One such method is assigning the managers to imperative strategic planning positions like promotions (Aiswarya & Ramasundaram, 2020). Another way of using strategic imperative on leadership is through implementing good environmental and social practices. There are, however, four strategic imperatives for business growth and development. These are: building a brand, growing the business organically, expanding the business internationally, and implementing technology.
A business must build a brand, and the brand must be unique and widely recognized. When the business brand takes shape, even many people will want to join the business community. A business must also strive to grow organically in terms of members and number of clients. An organization can only increase the number of customers by providing quality services that are reliable, relevant, and trustworthy. An organization must strive to go international to operate beyond its borders (Bitso et al., 2020). Running beyond the country borders and opening branches in several other states should be a vision of every starting business. A business must work to provide members with the international connectivity they need. Finally, a company must strive to stay ahead in technology use in management, leadership, and delivery of services. With the increased use of Information technology in business management, a business must have the necessary resources to use the latest technology in its operations.
