Stress at work is defined in simple terms as harmful physical and also emotional response that occurs when the job requirements doesn’t match one’s capabilities, resources or needs (National institute of Occupational Safety and Health 1999). This is a major issue world wide that affects major challenges to individual’s mental and physical health. The main causes of stress related to work are, stressed workers are most likely to be poorly motivated, unhealthy, less productive and in most cases lack the capability to work safely at their employment premises. This directly affects the organizations in terms of productivity and profit making. This is indirect reference to sick offs, health care, loss of productivity and litigation costs (Palmer et al. 2004).
