The counseling profession entails dealing with challenging social and multicultural paradigms. MacLeod (2014) states that counselors should guide the treatment of different clients with diverse cultural practices in ways that are meant to recognize their exclusive worldviews. He further asserts that it is the responsibility of counselors to address all the issues that oppress their clients. However, some counselors still find it challenging to work with clients with diverse religious, political, and social attitudes. This paper, thus, intends to review how such attitudes impact the counselors’ perception and treatment of clients.
