Self-Awareness in the Work Environment
Self-awareness is termed as termed as one’s own experience with regards to their personality or individuality. It is a way through which individuals understand their own experiences through their motives, desires, feelings, and character. In the working environment, this is crucial in the determination of productivity level of an employee. Having the ability to be self-aware means that the individual has an ability to focus on themselves with the intention of aligning their actions to their thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

In the working environment, this is crucial in the determination of productivity level of an employee. Having the ability to be self-aware means that the individual has an ability to focus on themselves with the intention of aligning their actions to their thoughts, feelings, and emotions. It is with this retrospect that gives the individual a perspective of how others understand them. With this, leaders could be able to assess their work progress and the effectiveness of their strategies and their visions.
Self-awareness is a skill that one harnesses over times of practice. Once it is woven into the fabric of one’s personality, then one becomes aware of themselves in different circumstances depending on their situations and one’s personality. With such, in the harnessing of self-awareness, its development is crucial in that it grows significantly in an infant of the age of 18 months. (Cherry, 2023, n.p). In addition, researchers have shown that the anterior cingulate of the brain is responsible for the growth and harnessing of the self-awareness ability in human beings. When people are self-aware, this part in the frontal lobe of the brain is triggered when adults become self-aware. The study further revealed that children at the age of 18 months, are on the verge of being self-aware, which is dependent to their environment and situation. Nonetheless, the brain is not solely responsible for the realization of the train in a human being, it is gotten through interactions with other individuals. It makes the person aware of their own character traits, which are different from the next person.
