Should We Petition the Government to Develop Non-Litter Policies? (Essay Sample)
Lack of policies on littering has resulted to environmental degradation. Therefore, should we petition the
government to develop non-litter policies?
Research has shown that many progressive companies has based their social responsibility works on cleaning
up litter. In addition, there are people who earn their income from employment with major responsibility of
cleaning the littered areas (Brown et.al, 2010). A lot of governments through conferential sittings have tried to
devise different policies that reduced waste in the environment.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Lack of policies on littering has resulted to environmental degradation. Therefore, should we petition the government to develop non-litter policies?

However, there have not taken effect in most countries and thus Non-governmental organisation dealing with the issues have hence come up offering employment and income solutions as well as development of recycle companies. Consequently, reducing poverty (Ojedokun & Balogun, 2011). Therefore, lack of non-litter policies has not led to environmental degradation but has helped raise livelihood.
However, it has been reported that littering results to loss of biodiversity. In addition, littering has adverse effects on human health, safety and welfare. Hips of litter lead to wastage of land that could have been used for economic development as well as production of foul smell which could reduce the value of land in the whole area. A lot of governments use a lot of money when there is cholera and typhoid out brakes (Schultz et.al, 2013). The litter could also get to water bodies which could have negative consequences to persons consuming this water and organisms living in the water. Research has shown that a lot of organisms living in the water die out of air stress due to increase water pollution (Andrady, 2015). Litter could hip in an area and result into flooding. In addition, litter not only is it an environmental problem but also a social problem as people fail to gain pride while living in areas that are littered.
