Sociological Explanation of Modern Families
Sociological factors play a critical role in explaining the changes we are seeing in the modern family. The most obvious factor is the increasing acceptance of diversity, which has allowed for the acceptance of non-traditional family structures such as cohabitation, same-sex parents, and unwed parents. As society has become more tolerant of more diverse family structures, people feel less pressure to conform to traditional family structures. This has resulted in more people feeling comfortable exploring different forms of family.
These deviances can have a significant impact on the lives of children. Depending on the family structure, children may not have access to the same resources as children in more traditional families. For example, children in same-sex-parent households may face difficulties in terms of acceptance from their peers. Additionally, cohabiting couples may not have the same financial stability as married couples, leading to a more difficult life for children.
