To achieve this, one should either use the energy more efficiently or reduce the services which require the energy, like driving less and walking more. Considering that this energy mainly comes from natural resources, energy conservation is vital to ensure that the world does not deplete its natural resources. Energy conservation's primary goal is to decrease demand, guard and refresh supplies, and create and utilize alternative energy sources. Some examples of energy conservation are; using energy-efficient light bulbs, smart power strips, drying dishes and clothes by air, and not using air conditioners throughout during the summer and the winter in your house by leaving it a little hotter and cooler respectively. Energy conservation has many unmatched benefits to human beings. First, it leads to a reduced cost of living due to decreased consumption of energy, and also, since the appliances will have less usage, they will last longer, and this will reduce the maintenance cost. The power plants will be fewer, positively impacting living beings. Cleaner air in the atmosphere and fewer spills will be vital for the health of all living beings, including humans and animals. In addition, energy conservation will make sure that the world is sustainably healthy for the future generation and reduce global warming by lowering temperatures, weather patterns will be more stable, and reduced natural disasters which will advantage people, animals, and the entire natural environment (Hu et al., 2020). Climate change, mainly due to global warming, has been one of the world's trending aspects, which calls for immediate action. Energy conservation is one of the ways which can promote environmental sustainability. I have come up with two acts that my peers and I can take to promote sustainability. One is reducing energy consumption through things like turning off lights when in use and using equipment that have smart plugs like computers and printers. This will significantly reduce the amount of energy consumed and, in turn, reduce the overall production of electricity from sources that emit greenhouse gases, thus maintaining environmental sustainability.
