Bangladesh men who were opposed to women seeking more power used a variety of tactics to resist change: threats of violence, spreading rumors about the women, religious threats that the women would go to hell, etc.
In the country that you have selected, what are some tactics used to put obstacles in the path of women's empowerment? How are men overpowering women, in obvious and subtler ways? Cite sources for this information. Then, give suggestions for combating these tactics in your selected country.
What can or should women do to fight back? Explain your rationale, including why these particular strategies might or might not work in the country in question. Cite all your sources of reference.

Introduction
Worldwide, there has been an increasing challenge facing most countries in relation to gender equality. Gender-based inequality remains a significant issue throughout different countries, especially low-income and developing countries. According to the World Inequality Report (WIR), an estimate of over 52 million women globally is facing frequent issues pertaining to issues related to gender inequalities such as poverty, discrimination, violence, workforce inequality, etc (Tosheva, 2018). The existing literature has revealed that an increasing gender gap, particularly in employment and income levels, in which, the employment rate of men is 56% while for females is 40% (Tosheva, 2018). For years, the female gender has been limited and barriers have been established to act as obstacles in the path to women’s empowerment. It is reported that women play a big role in a country’s economic development and growth; as such, there is an urgent call for countries to developed strategies and create opportunities that will help in empowering women globally (Kabir, Aziz, & Shathi, 2018). Therefore, this paper will discuss the tactics Bangladesh use to put obstacles in the path of women’s empowerment and how men are overpowering women, in obvious and subtler ways. Also, it will discuss ways in which the Bangladesh can combat these tactics.
