The article revolves around human right and how it has become one of the political arenas for political activism and extensive discourse. Anat tells us that are the rights that are due merely by virtue of being human beings (Ponomareff, et al. 2006).
The foundation and justification origins are explained either by philosophical way or through religious and secular way. Ronald Dworkin argues that the human rights are sacred. For some people, it is a matter of religious faith whereas to others it is a matter of secular but deep philosophical belief.
Furthermore, the aspect of religious grounding of these human rights has a diversity of discrete, non-grounding of these human rights. By saying that the human rights are sacred, Ronald posits that the only answer to human rights’ foundation is religion. He posits that only a divine creator can give a satisfactory and sufficient account of the sacredness of us. Therefore we are sacred human beings (Ponomareff, et al. 2006). However, the issue of sacredness may be just a manner of speaking.
However, Anata claims in the article that these two aspects may have equivalent acuity in justification of the human rights. By giving examples, Anata argues in the article that religion is not working well for human rights.
