W02 - Discussion 05: Types of Learning
Instructions
Read chapter 7 in Walsh and watch the YouTube clips on three types of learning (classical, operant conditioning, and social learning). For each clip, post a sentence or two stating how that clip demonstrates at least one aspect of the type of learning portrayed.
Your instructor will assign one person in the class to be the facilitator for this discussion – the facilitator is responsible for initiating the discussion with one or two questions or points, extending the discussion by posing new questions that arise out of the discussion, referring back to the reading or streamed content, and keeping an active and involved discussion going related to the theory approach and discussion questions. Facilitators need to check back a few times during the week to see how the discussion is going (Facilitation counts as your posts for the discussion).
Your instructor will assign one other person as a summarizer for this discussion – the summarizer is responsible for summarizing the discussion and providing all class participants with a brief review of the main issues, keypoints and/or conclusions that the group made related to the theory approach and discussion questions.. The summarizer posts by the end of the week (Saturday) (Summarizing counts as your posts for the discussion) If you are the facilitator or the summarizer for this discussion, you do not need to also reply to one of your classmates posts.

From the concerned video clip, the former entails the removal of a stimulus such as eliminating homework at night after a child passes examinations, while the latter involves the addition of an excitant such as getting a gift from a prize box after one finishes their meal entirely.
Film Three-Alberto Bandra’s Bobo Doll Experiment
Social learning occurs by observing other peoples’ actions. It is demonstrated by Alberto Bandura’s Bobo doll experiment where the psychologist recorded a film that involved a female student kicking and punc...
