1. What does it reveal about support for checks and balances, protest rights, the rights of the media to criticize political officials, and the protection of individuals who hold unpopular views?
A number of people believe that those with less popular views should be supported, while others do not believe on that, especially the elderly of over 65 years of age. 74% claim that securing the privileges of those with disliked perspectives as vital segments of a solid majority rule government. Similarly, a majority of people believe that people have a right to non-violent protests. Non-violent protests are essential for democracy and it is fair that no one gets hurt for their right to protest. 79% of the general populations view the freedom to peaceful protests. Checks and balances are also believed to be important for democracy, with a high percentage believing that is good, while a smaller percentage believing that is it not essential. 89% say reasonable and open national decisions are imperative to keeping up a solid majority rules system, while 83% say the same in regards to an arrangement of governing rules partitioning power between the president, Congress and the courts. The right for the media to criticize politicians has also been debated; however, research has shown that most people do not support that. A smaller majority portion (64%) says the flexibility of news associations to censure political pioneers is basic to keep up a solid majority rule government in the U.S.
Actually, the only discussion with the most votes is the support for checks and balances. About the president being given full power to run the state has a few supporters. Citizens of America claim that the challenges could be dealt with more effectively if the presidents did not have to worry much about courts and congress. A majority of them claim that it would be risky if the president was given full power, amounting to a total of 77%. The majorities that oppose to this are 87 percent of democrats and 65% of the publicans.
It has been revealed that actually, most people who support these rights are the Democrats rather than the publicans. More so, out of the Democrats, only a small percentage of the learned and educated support this while the illiterate oppose this. Likely, those citizens who went to college support the right to free and fair elections, protests rights, media rights and the rights of those with unpopular views.
