What makes wonder women iconic
What do women do to deal with the male chauvinism in their struggle to gain power and become influential in our societies? What are the exact difficult situation women have to contend with as they strive to achieve their potentials in their areas of interest? These were the questions that gave a platform for discussions that made the current research successful. Carrying out research to find out the efforts by the women to become icons in our communities serves as the single most effective way of understanding feminism. The current research, carried out in Kuwait for one year, seeks to find out what makes the successful and powerful women in Kuwait what they are. The research derived answers by use of various methods such as journals from the internet, use of discussions with focused groups of some of the successful women in Kuwait. The respondents were useful in giving the required information used in this argumentative research essay. Women still have challenges in making their dreams realities, though, the fellow women in power currently do their best in ensuring women empowerment and gender equality at workplaces and other spheres of life (Odine, 10). During the research, some issues vital to women growth into icons came up. The most profound of the issues under discussion to support what women to become powerful included economic empowerment of women, women entry into the political arena, and use of the social media in bringing women together and encouraging education for the women.
Women from the middle-east started taking an active part in the economic development of their countries, the women’s involvement in the production sector of the economy remains outstanding. The private sector is one of the areas of interest that most women in the Kuwait are fast venturing into in their quest to become icons and to achieve feminism. The women in Kuwait enjoy some of the efforts of iconic leaders in the country. The women have made great progress in venturing into the business world. Forming Kuwaiti businesspeople’s committee and electing Sheikha Hessa Saad al-Abdullah al-Salim al-Sabah to be the president is probably the most celebrated milestone (United Nations, 1). Another initiative that makes women excel in their quest to take an active part in the economic growth of Kuwait is the structuring and opening of the stock market for the women. To achieve all these, the women faced a lot of discrimination and discouraging sentiments from the men who crave for power over the women. Women equality is vital in empowering them to do all that they the ability to do passionately. Currently, it was determined in the research that women participate actively in the global conferences and economic fora (United Nations, 6). The women now have the privilege and the ability to enhance their skills in stock exchange business as well as other fields of developing a sustainable economy. Apart from the integration of women in the public and private sectors of employment in the country, the Kuwaiti legislation safeguards equal chances of employment for the women and men. The fact that women even take part in the legislation process such as the drafting of the legislation on civil service employment and other prospects to promotion is a milestone that makes most powerful women iconic in the society.
The most powerful women in Kuwait enjoy their contribution and successes in their political achievements. Politics in the middle east was thought to be a men’s affair for a long time; women were forced to stay back at home and desist from going outside their homes alone. The feeling of power that men had over the women has however changed due to the persistent struggle put by the women of faith who wanted to change such archaic mindset. According to Beydoun, "El Saadawi provides an authentic, indigenous role model for politically dis-empowered women in the Arab world" (102). The research determined the exclusion of women from active participation in the political arena in any country as the single most dangerous way of discouraging feminism. The low representation of women in the women in the parliament in most parts of the Arab world makes more of the women to keep on fighting for their rights to suffrage. The research determined that it has been a success integrating more women into the political leadership of the land and the legislation department.
The use of the social media platforms to preach the importance of education to the fellow women as well as bringing more women together is evident in Kuwait. The move is done as a way of creating forums for advice is another way the Middle East women make the few wonder women iconic (Odine, 3). Feminism is one tool that empowers women and motivates them to work hard in building the economy. It is due to the role played by the social media platforms that women exchange cultures, advice and motivational sentiments that make that the women are successful in their quest (Odine, 2). In fact, in Kuwait, it is evident that since women gained rights to operate freely and do most of the things that were considered man-only tasks, the economy of the country has been on the rise, and the workforce expanded. In the social media platforms, the learned and informed women of the community take the opportunity to inform mo...
